Speech:The nightingale of India was born on 13th February 1879 and participated actively in India’s freedom struggle. She was a famous poet and contributed greatly to women’s rights, political stability and anti-imperialism. Her birthday is rightly celebrated as “National Women’s Day” in India. After India’s independence, she became the governor of Uttar Pradesh. She was the first woman to serve as governor of any state. She was also the first woman congress president.
News: The IRCTC announced a special Bharat Gaurav train from Delhi to Katra during Navratras. The train will start on 30th September.
President Draupadi Murmu will be attending Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on 19th September in England. She will represent India and offer condolences on behalf of India’s government. She will be visiting the UK from 17th to 19th September.
