Thought: The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not winning but taking part; the essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well.
Speech: The Olympic Games are known as the world’s foremost athletic competition. Over 200 nations participate in this event that happens once in 4 years. The objective of the day is to promote sports and spread the message to make sports an integral part of life. On 23 June 1948, the first Olympic Day was celebrated. The countries of Portugal, Greece, Austria, Canada, Venezuela, and Belgium, organized an Olympic day in their respective countries. There has also been the addition of the Paralympic Games, the Youth Olympic Games, the five Continental Games, Deaflympics, the Special Olympics, and the World Games. This is for the inclusion of all athletes, non-disabled, disabled, and different age groups. It is a sense of pride and an awareness of cultural heritage with the medals and the ceremonies in the Olympics. The Olympics have left a mark of pride on national identities over the years.
